Privacy policy
This website is a simple static site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, shows no ads, and loads its fonts and images from its own server. This page explains which data is still processed when you visit it.
1. Controller
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Pascal ReitermannJahnstr. 4

2. Hosting on GitHub Pages
This website is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, GitHub processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested URL, the referrer, and information about your browser and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the website and to keep the service secure. I have no access to these server logs.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). For details, see the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
3. Theme preference stored in your browser
If you switch between the light and dark theme with the moon or sun button, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so that it is kept for your next visit. The value (light or dark) never leaves your device and is not sent to me or anyone else. Storing it is strictly necessary for this feature, which you requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
4. Links to other websites
This website links to other services such as GitHub, LinkedIn, DEV and Stack Overflow. Simply visiting this website does not send any data to them. Their own privacy policies apply only once you click one of these links.
5. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract). I delete this data once it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless I am legally required to keep it.
6. Your rights
You have the right to
- access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, just send me an email. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
